Countdown to the 15th Annual North Iowa Tractor Ride
The 2022 North Iowa Tractor Ride presented by MBT and hosted by local radio stations 98.7 Kiss Country, 103.7 The Fox and 95.1 The Bull are celebrating the 15 year anniversary of the ride July 21st – July 23rd!
Headquartered at the North Iowa Events Center in Mason City, Iowa. 200 vintage and restored tractors along with their drivers, friends and family will start signing in, receiving their goodie bags, T-shirts, and tractor signage on Thursday afternoon July 21st, before taking part in the evening meal and drivers safety meeting. The ride is sponsored by MBT, MN-Iowa Electric Motors and Equipment, Mason City Red Power, Petro Blend, Mason City Ford and Chrysler,North Iowa Area Community College, Fox Auction Company, Mason City Powersports and Mary Klaes Photography.
Friday morning, July 22nd, the groups begin rolling out. Groups roll out according to speed with the slowest group leaving first. Morning break will be at NIACC. From there groups will go North to Manly as the Women’s Group of Bethlehem United Church will welcome riders for lunch. After lunch we will make our way to POET in Hanlontown for an afternoon break and back to the North Iowa Events Center to park for the evening. Riders and families are encouraged to explore the Mason City and Clear Lake area and dine in many of the fine restaurants we have to offer.
Saturday morning, the riders will make their way over to Clear Lake – go around the lake with stops in Ventura for lunch and Clear Lake for an afternoon break – those who want to, will make a stop at the Buddy Holly Memorial site before returning. Some don’t like to take their restored tractors on gravel, so we always respect that. We’ll end our 2022 ride back at the North Iowa Events Center mid afternoon.
“We started here 15 years ago, and we thought it would be an appropriate way to celebrate the anniversary of the ride. A lot has changed here in the past few years, plus staying local allows more of our staff the chance to celebrate with us”, says coordinator Jamie Nelson.
Spectators are always welcome to join the riders for lunch, along the route or just to check out the tractors at the headquarters at the North Iowa Events Center. Riders must be at least 16, and pre-registered. All ride maps, hotels, camping and applications are available at www.northiowatractorride.com and the ride is limited to the first 200 applicants.
